COURSE OVERVIEW |
Effective inventory and warehouse management require adequate systems to be put in place to track items when they are in and when they go out. It is important that all inventories items in a warehouse are recorded in one place so that the items can be found whenever they are required. Inventory management also has implications for customer service. |
This module covers the fundamental principles of inventory management. Globally, the term often used is stock control. Inventory management measurements and techniques will be explained. Inventory management is concerned with minimising the total cost of inventory. Therefore, the financial importance of inventory management and its relationship to the company financial statement will be reviewed. Understanding of these techniques will allow inventory management professionals and their managers to grasp the technical details of inventory management and apply it to understand the role of inventory management in supporting the supply chain process. |
